Journals

Date: 11 August 2008

Entry: #4

Reflection:

Sometimes Okonkwo becomes abusive with his children and wifes or works to the bone in order to overcompensate for his father’s weakness. Sometimes Okonkwo takes it too far to the point that he acts against traditions and the gods. He dislikes women because they remind him of his father and in his perspective being a woman is vile. For the same reason he dislikes Nowye, he is full of emotions, like his grandfather.
